Pilot launching December 2026 · Kampala

When every second counts, help is one tap away.

Buyambi Care is building Uganda's first unified emergency response network, connecting patients to trained boda first responders, ambulances, hospitals and insurers in seconds. We're onboarding partners now for our December 2026 pilot.

What we're building

One network. Every link in the emergency chain.

Buyambi Care is a two-sided platform: a Patient App and a Partner App, designed for Uganda's realities: boda traffic, mixed-tier hospitals and mobile-first users.

Boda first responders

Trained riders with first-aid kits reach patients in minutes, and can safely transport non-critical cases.

Ambulance dispatch

Certified ambulances matched to the nearest suitable responder.

Hospital pre-arrival

Hospitals are notified in advance, so care starts sooner.

Two apps · one mission

Whether you need help or you give it, there's an app for you.

  • Patient App: SOS button, smart triage, live tracking of the responder, and hospital matching.
  • Partner App: go online, accept nearby requests, navigate with turn-by-turn, and get paid.

How it works

From SOS to hospital in three steps.

  1. 1

    Tap for help

Open the Buyambi app and press SOS, or dial our USSD short code on any phone, even without data.

  2. 2

    Best help nearby

We locate you and match the right responder: trained boda, private car or ambulance, and the right hospital.

  3. 3

    First aid on the way

Guided first-aid instructions keep the patient stable while help is en route.

  4. 4

    Hospital ready

Your triage brief and vitals reach the hospital before you arrive, so care starts immediately.

Community-powered response

Trained boda riders. Everywhere you are.

Uganda has 1.5M+ boda boda riders, the fastest vehicles in traffic. We train, equip and certify them as first responders, turning the country's biggest transport network into its biggest lifesaving network.

Why Buyambi Care

Built for Uganda's realities, not copied from elsewhere.

Works low-data & offline

App + USSD short code means we work anywhere, even on a feature phone with no data.

5× faster response

We aim to reach 5 patients in the time it currently takes to reach one.

Affordable + free first aid

Free AI first-aid guidance; transparent, right-sized transport pricing.

Pre-hospital data

We close Uganda's biggest EMS gap: no more blind admissions to the ER.

The opportunity

6,000,000

annual African deaths could be averted with timely access to high-quality emergency care.
